Hooray For Our Side!

Interesting post over at Hardcore Zen:

"Enlightenment is not the ultimate success and lack of enlightenment is not evidence of failure.

There is no success or failure in reality. Success and failure are judgments about reality based entirely — entirely — upon what your tiny ego thinks is good for it or bad for it. This is not reality at all. What you call failure may be exactly what you really need while what you call success may be a slippery slide into delusion and darkness. The world out there is not something apart from you. When it changes in ways you don’t like, who is responsible?"

Movie review: 'Zen Noir'

Review of a movie called Zen Noir:

"Once the detective steps into a Buddhist temple to investigate the death of a monk, he enters another universe, where he is confronted by the serenely implacable Master (Kim Chan). Gradually, the detective discovers that the real mystery he must unravel is himself."

Dharma Talk: Before Enlightenment, After Enlightenment by Geoffrey Shugen Arnold Sensei

Interesting Dharma talk:

"Buddha nature is always present. But so are delusion and all the things that bind us. That’s why practice has to occur in the present. Realization occurs in the present. There is nothing else."

Zen is a "crappy" date

From Big Red Buddha:

"Really, Zen turned out to be about as conducive to romance as sitting bolt upright on cold floor in complete silence ... which, of course, is exactly what we do."

Get the rest here.

Zen for the very rich

Opulent "Zen" living for affluent urbanites: Miraval, where condo meets Pier 1 meets Starbucks meets high-end, 24/7 health club. It's enough to make even Deepak Chopra blush.

More zen marketing: Zen Puppy

Spotted by Tony at a Pensacola, Florida, Petsmart: Zen Puppy.

It looks like Tai Chi for dogs, but this is actually a box of puppy treats:

Zen Puppy Smarty treats were created for your dog's happiness and well-being in mind. They contain a special formulation of ingredients including Lemon Balm Extract, Atlantic Kep and Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. Every treat is full of flavor and goodness.
They're available in three overpriced formulas: : Energy, Smarty, Peace, Agile, and Beauty.

Do doggie treats have Buddha nature? Mu!
