Two Sciences of Mind. A good article on the emerging dialogue between neuroscience and Buddhism (previously discussed here). Allan Wallace of the Meanwhile, the Dalai Lama's plan to speak at an upcoming neuroscience conference has led to controversy and petition wars.

There are somethings we do not understand about the mind, like out of body experiences, which can be prvoked through meditation, that cannot be explained by scientific fact.

For instance, the paramedic who is an athest, I will have to look for the link if I have a chance, who was trying to figure out how a brain dead child knew what was going on when she was supposed to be brain dead.
